How to update KYC EPF UAN Online?

You can update your KYC information for EPF online using UAN EPFO portal. In order to update or change your KYC (Know your customer) detail on UAN EPFO portal, you require UAN (Universal Account Number) credential.  You can login to EPFO UAN portal and update your KYC by uploading necessary documents online.

These KYC details include PAN card number, Aadhaar card, and bank account details. If you have not yet updated these details on the EPFO portal you must do it now. KYC update in EPF gives following benefits.

  • The proper KYC document completed account does not face any delay during transfer or withdrawal of money.
  • If bank account details are not updated your claim may get rejected.
  • The EPF member will not get any SMS alert if KYC documents are not submitted.

How to update KYC for EPF UAN Online?

Step 1 – Login to EPFO UAN portal – https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ using UAN credential. In the Manage tab, you will find menu ‘KYC’ and Contact detail.

Step -2 – Select the KYC information you wish to update from the list.

Step-3 – Update the detail on portal.The status of KYC will be shown as pending until details are approved by the employer.

Step-4- Once your employer approves the changes status will be changed as “Approved by employer”. You will also receive SMS for the change.

Is it mandatory to update this KYC details?

No, it is not mandatory to update this KYC details. However, these details can help you in processing your claim faster. Not only that you can get a regular update on SMS if KYC details are updated.

Can I upload the document directly online?

It is necessary to certify these document using self-attestation. So, before scanning Xerox copy of this documents you must do self-attestation. In case of passport and driving license expiry date is important.

How much Time will it take to change approval status?

After uploading your employer has to approve the KYC. Your employer needs digital signature in order to authorize your KYC. It will take approximately 48-72 hours to change the approval status in the system. The information shall be verified from appropriate authorities by the system.

How do I know that KYC uploaded by me is approved by the employer?

The status will be shown against uploaded KYC document on the same page. The system will also trigger SMS on your register mobile number.

    Hi Raviraj,

    I applied for PF withdrawal but the same got rejected stating: “BANK ACCOUNT NU DIFFER FORM AND KYC UPDATED/BANK BRANCH NOT AUTHORISED FOR EPS PENSION DISBURSEMENT”.
    As I have switched my company so I have new salary account and closed the last one with previous company.
    Please suggest what needs to be done ?

      Hi Turun,

      Either you give same bank account which was registered earlier at UAN or do Re-KYC for new bank account before going ahead with PF withdrawal.

    Login to your UAN account and go to KYC section. Select Update your Bank account detail from KYC menu.Type IFSC code along with Bank Account Number in respective boxes and then upload but show on kyc pending pl look this matter

    I have two PF account now issue is in both account name mismatch with Adhar card
    One current account I will manage to do name change form and will do KYC?
    but kindly help me that what should I do in old account to marge with current account or to withdraw the money with going to my Old company

      You need to inform about multiple EPF account to epf office via [email protected] alternatively you can also inform via employer. After verification old account shall be deactivated and money will be transferred to new account.

    Thank you. Your details are very useful. I left my last company on 31st March 2016. Now only (NOV 2017) going to apply for PF closing. When I am trying to update my KYC, I could not find any link to upload the scanned copies. I updated my Bank & AADHAR details and those are remain at pending KYC list. But while updating PAN, I am receiving ERROR message that the name does not match with UAN. At UAN my name shows SARAVANAN P but the PAN shows PANDIAN SARAVANAN. Could you advice me any solution please …

      Dear Sarvanan,

      You can not upload any document on EPFO website.You just need to update the data. In your case as you are getting error in non matching of name. You need to change name at UAN.You are requested to submit the request to EPF via your employer.
